Michał Piotr Pręgowski is a sociologist. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Warsaw, Poland, in 2008. He is a a Fulbright grantee in the Fulbright Scholar-in-Residence program and a visiting professor at Eastern Kentucky University (Animal Studies Program) for the academic year 2014-2015. In his home country, Michal works as an Assistant Professor at the Warsaw University of Technology. He is a member of Animals & Society Institute and International Society for Anthrozoology (ISAZ).

Professional Interests

Sociology of norms and values; anthrozoology. His current research projects include analyzing roles and statuses of dogs in the West, funerary and mourning practices in contemporary societies, as well as history and ethics of dog training.
